XHTML is the new standard markup language
A mixture of classic (HTML) and cutting-edge (XML), this hybrid language looks and works much like HTML but is based on XML, the web's "super" markup language, and brings web pages many of XML's benefits , as enumerated by the Online Style Guide of the Branch Libraries of The New York Public Library.
If you want your site to work well in today's browsers and non-traditional devices, and to continue to work well in tomorrow's, it's a good idea to author new sites in XHTML.
How do we work with you in developing your website?
Free Initial Consultation
These consultations usually take place at your location, and take about an hour. They are completely free and without obligation.
Estimate Preparation
If, after the initial consultation, you decide to go forward, FlashWeave Web Design will spend more time gathering information by email, phone, or in face-to-face meetings. We will then create a detailed written set of specifications for your web site with a cost estimate.
Written Contract
FlashWeave prepares a standard contract including a detailed description of the planned web site and a cost estimate. 1/3-1/4 of the total estimated cost, less fees paid for the estimate, is due upon signing of the Agreement.
Visual Design Drafts
Next, page layout and visual design begins. The site's Main Page is designed first. FlashWeave produces a draft based upon the content, needs, and preferences provided, and uploads this site to a private location on the Internet where the client can view it. The client's feedback is solicited, and this feedback used to produce a second draft. Once more, client feedback is used to make another round of changes, and these changes are expected to produce a final draft.
Real World Site Assessment
Your website is thoroughly run through real-world assessment. You'll have another chance to review it for any minor changes or corrections, and FlashWeave tests the pages on numerous browsers, on different platforms, and at different browser window sizes and resolution settings, correcting any remaining errors.
